Driver

Summary

 Transport equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.  All drivers are responsible for loading, unloading equipment, securing of equipment and professional customer service. Drivers are also responsible for use of all equipment used for, safeguard and protection of company vehicles.  All vehicles are subject to random inspection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Responsible for attending mandatory Preventive Maintenance Checks and Service classes on in-service training days to learn the proper procedures for checking vehicle operations.
  2. Responsible for securing required items inside the vehicles.
  3. Responsible for reporting vehicle deficiencies on the weekly maintenance check sheet.
  4. Operates radio or similar device to communicate with a base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
  5. Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
  6. Keeps records of trips.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

No Computer skills needed.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid State Drivers License.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
